Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
What is coaching?
Coaching is a partnership designed to help you grow with intention. The International Coaching Federation (ICF) defines it as “partnering with clients in a thought-provoking and creative process that inspires them to maximize their personal and professional potential.”
In practice, that means our sessions are a confidential space where you can be fully yourself. My role isn’t to give you advice or tell you what to do; it’s to ask powerful questions, challenge your thinking, and support you in uncovering what you truly want and how to move toward it.
How is it different from therapy or mentoring?
Coaching is distinct from therapy and mentoring, though they all provide valuable support in different ways. Therapy often focuses on mental health and healing, while mentoring is about receiving guidance and advice from someone with experience in your field.
Coaching, on the other hand, is about discovery and forward movement. It’s a space for you to reflect, gain clarity, and design intentional actions. I’m not here to give you answers . I’m here to help you uncover your own.
Do I need to be a manager or have a team to get leadership coaching?
Not at all. Leadership isn’t just about titles, it’s about how you show up in your life and work. Leadership coaching can help you strengthen your voice, navigate challenges, and align your actions with your values, whether you’re managing a team, collaborating with peers, or leading yourself through change.
What can I expect from a typical coaching session?
Each session is a mix of conversation, reflection, and action. We’ll explore what’s present for you, uncover insights, and design practical steps forward. You’ll leave with greater clarity, perspective, and intentional actions to practice between sessions.
What are some areas you help clients with?
Clients come to me for support in areas such as:
- Navigating change and uncertainty in career or life
- Leveling up as a leader, with or without a formal title
- Owning your voice and presence in professional spaces
- Designing a career path that feels intentional and values-driven
- Creating balance and making space for what matters most outside of work
I want a combination of leadership and life coaching. Do you do that?
Yes! I approach coaching with you as a whole human in mind. What happens in your personal life affects your professional life and vice versa. Many clients start with career goals but also want to find more balance, strengthen relationships, or prioritize health, family, and passions outside of work. Coaching naturally flows between both life and leadership.
I don’t have much time — will coaching just feel like another thing on my to-do list?
Coaching is an investment in yourself, and ultimately only you can decide if the time is right. That said, many of my clients begin coaching during busy or transitional seasons, because that’s when support is most impactful.
The structure of committing to a coach helps you step off the “I’m so busy” treadmill, prioritize yourself, and set healthier boundaries. One of the very first things we can work on together is how to protect your time, including delegation, focus, and making space for reflection.
Sessions are typically every other week, which is an ideal rhythm to stay focused while still giving you time to process and put insights into practice.
Coaching isn’t about adding more to your plate, it’s about creating clarity, space, and momentum where it matters most.
